Playdate with Quinn

Last Sunday, cutie Quinn and her wonderful momma Brooke came by for a visit. The boys were really interested in her! A sign of trouble down the road? ;)

W: "Here, Quinn, take this cup."

G: "No, Quinn, you'd much rather have this guitar."

Q: "All I need is some PERSONAL SPACE!"

Ha ha, twins really have no concept of personal space. I think Quinn was a little overwhelmed ;) She did love the swing, though!

A fun visit! So looking forward to these kiddos growing up together!

Arts & Crafts Festival

Last Saturday, the boys and I met my mom and Auntie Jen at Hungry Mother State Park in Marion for the annual Arts & Crafts Festival. I always love going out there to see what new and exciting stuff they have, but also for the mini high school reunion ;) The highlights of the day for Garrett & Walker were the balloon swords that Nana bought them and the playground, where they both went down the slide by themselves for the first time. Very cute, but also a little bittersweet. Another reminder that our little guys are growing up too fast!

As a side note, yes, it was the middle of July and yes, the boys were wearing pants and jackets. It didn't get out of the 60s that day and it was cool and dreary :( But, the rain stopped so at least we didn't get wet or too hot!

A little blurry but I love the pure joy on his face

My FAV...couldn't love these little boys any more!

Romp n' Roll

Last Friday, I took the boys to Romp n' Roll for their first visit. It was awesome! Such a bright, colorful place with lots of padded stuff for them to climb and play on. They were worn out that night! We met their new buddy Kai and his mom Hillary there, and the boys had fun playing together.

They all loved basketball, especially Garrett. That's my boy! :)

Playing peek-a-boo with each other in the puppet show area.

They did this for nearly 15 minutes!

Walker loved the trampoline, even though it had very little bounce and the vinyl covering was coming apart.

It was a very fun day and we will be going back soon, with probably a lot of visits this winter!

My hubby rocks (literally)

A long awaited basement update...

Jim just finished the stone on the fireplace and it looks awesome! It was a very time consuming process because you have to piece everything together and make a lot of cuts. Now Jim can add masonry to his long list of skills.

Before-a blank slate

We laid out everything before getting started

Finished product!

We still need to clean some of the joints to get rid of some of the morter that stands out but otherwise we are ready to enjoy our fireplace this winter.

The kitchen and bathroom are also essentially done. Here are some bathroom pics, including the tile around the shower.
Kitchen pics will come later when I clean all of the junk off of our new granite countertops :)

We are getting close, and it's so exciting to see things starting to come together for our new living space!

Fun with our buddies

We are so fortunate to have several friends with little boys near Garrett & Walker's age. As they get older, we are trying to be more social so they can have some fun playtime with their little buddies!

Last weekend, we had a playdate with our buddy Gordon, who just turned 2. Gordon has a cool new Elmo room and lots of fun toys. We had a blast!

Gordon & Garrett talking business Walker climbing the roller coaster tracks--this was a cool toy!

These pics are older, but we have had several playdates with our neighbor and buddy, Kellen. Here is a pic of our tricycle/wagon riding trip around the neighborhood.

Over Memorial Day weekend, we went to a 1st birthday party for our buddy Grayson. We met another new friend, Kai, there.

Also over Memorial Day, Kellen and his mommy and daddy came over for a picnic lunch and water play.

Later that day, we went over to Kellen's for a cookout and backyard fun time.
