Our First Christmas!! (Part 1)

Garrett & Walker's first Christmas was GREAT!! They actually had a really big Christmas before Santa even made an appearance. It started a couple of weeks early with an annual get-together with friends. Last year, the four couples had a total of 3 kids and this year we doubled to 6! Glad to say we contributed more than our fair share to the increase :) And amazingly, we got a decent picture of all 6 of them!

Then, Grandpa Jim and Sue came to visit, bearing lots of gifts to entertain the boys. Another fun day!

We celebrated Christmas with Aunt Cindy (and the rest of mommy's family) early. Santa (aka Uncle Charlie) made a surprise appearance! The kids had a blast with him, even though Abbie and Brady figured out within a minute who he was. They stole his costume and became Santa and Mrs. Claus.

A couple of days before Christmas, we visited with Daddy's family. First stop was in Wytheville to see Great Grandma June. We had a great visit!

Then, it was off to Marion to see the rest of Daddy's family. We had a very fun day and were showered with way too many fun toys!

On Christmas Eve, we celebrated with Mommy's family. We missed Auntie Jessica! But, she joined us via webcam (along with Jansen, Kenzie, and Uncle Chris) so that she could still be part of the celebration.
Papaw always gets the grandkids a fishing pole for their first Christmas. Garrett was having a fun with his and was ready to reel in a big catch!
Garrett also loved Auntie Jen's jingle bell earrings.

We had such an amazing time celebrating with all of our family and are so grateful for all of the generous gifts! Next post...Santa comes to the Overbay house!

Walker is on the move!

It's been in the works for a while now, but I think it's finally official--Walker is crawling (kind of)! He will get on his knees some but makes the most progress when he scoots on his belly. Here is a little video clip of our sweet little guy in action. Let the babyproofing begin!

First Visit with Santa

A couple of weeks ago, we took the boys to the mall for their first visit with Santa. They did great! No real smiles, but they didn't cry. They just kept looking at him, trying to figure out who this guy was. Garrett even tried to pull his beard (and it was real!). Merry Christmas!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! The boys sure enjoyed their first turkey day.

Gobble, gobble!
We traveled home for Thanksgiving day, and made several stops. First, we visited with Great-Grandma June (and Grandma Brenda) in Wytheville.
Then, we went to Nana & Paw's house where the rest of mommy's family was gathered. Playing with Cousin Mollie was fun!
Then, we visited with Grandpa Jim and Sue before going to Grandpa Weldon and Grandma Brenda's. Margaret and Amelia came out to visit with us there (us with Cousin Amelia below). It was a whirlwind day, but lots of fun!
