Play Time

The boys received a playmat as a shower gift and have recently put it to good use. They both love it! It has toys that hang down from it as well as a mirror on the side where they can see themselves. It also has a pillow that can be used for "tummy time." Here are some pics of our play time.

Meeting Great Grandma

On Sunday, we took the boys on their first big road trip to Marion to visit Jim's family (my family will get their visit next weekend--it's too many people to see in one day!). They did great--sleeping the whole ride and for a good portion of the time that we were visiting. On the way back, we stopped in Wytheville to visit with Great Grandma June. This was the first time she had been able to see the boys. We all really enjoyed the visit. Here are some pics:

The boys had been so good all day that we decided to continue our adventure with dinner at Cracker Barrel. The boys were angels there too, and Jim got to hear his share of the "twin" comments from everyone we passed :) A good day overall!

Meeting more family

Last Friday, the boys were able to meet more of their extended family when Great Aunts Wanda and Charlotte and Great Uncle Dale stopped by to visit on their way back from Charlottesville. The boys really enjoyed visiting with them. Thanks for stopping by!

Daddy and Doggie time

Jim came home to visit for lunchon Monday and enjoyed time with the boys. Not to be left out, Lexie cuddled with them as well. I think Lexie and Walker bonded :)

A beautiful sight

On our walk this evening, we turned around to head home a little early when it started sprinkling rain. We looked up and there were two beautiful rainbows across the street. Two rainbows for two sweet baby boys!

One month old!

Garrett and Walker turn one month old today! It's so hard to believe that it's already been a month since they joined our family, but we couldn't imagine our lives without them. We are planning to take monthly pics of them so that we can see how much they are changing and growing.

Four Weeks Old!

On Thursday, the boys turned 4 weeks old! I can't believe it's already been that long since they joined our family. We are enjoying every day with them and love seeing the new little things that they do each day. Here's a little glimpse of some of the things we've been up to lately.

We went to the lactation office at the hospital on Tuesday to have the boys weighed to make sure they were gaining enough weight. Garrett had gained 8 oz in nearly 2 weeks and was up to 6 lbs 10.5 oz. Walker had only gained 3 oz to 6 lbs 7 oz. This was a little less than what they like to see, so she recommended that we start regular supplementing with formula. So far, they have done really well, especially Walker. We will go back next week for another weigh in to see how they have progressed. Here is Daddy feeding the boys their bottles. Look how tiny they look relative to Daddy!

We decided to take a new route on our walk on Thursday evening. The route ended up being about 2.5 miles, so it was a lot longer than we usually walk. Needless to say, Lexie was tired about half way through so we let her ride in the bottom of the stroller. She liked it there!

Family Time

We had lots of family visits again this weekend. Nana and Auntie Jen came to visit on Saturday, and all of Jim's family made the trip to see us on Sunday. The boys enjoyed getting spoiled!

When the boys were just 11 days old, we had family pictures made at our house. Kristina Rose, a high school classmate who now lives in Christiansburg, recently started a photography business and came over to photograph our boys.
