34 week belly

Here is a pic of my growing baby boys at 34 weeks...

Rough Weekend

Well, this weekend, I got the stomach bug that Jim had last week. It was not a fun experience, especially at 34 1/2 weeks pregnant. But I went for my regular dr appt on Monday and everything looks good with the boys. Although I had lost a couple of pounds from being sick, my belly had grown to 43 cm. The dr wanted me to start some other routine tests in these last few weeks, including non-stress tests (NST) twice per week and biophysical profile one per week (I think). I went yesterday afternoon to the hospital for my first NST. The boys did great! I was hooked up to three monitors--one to track each of their heart rates and one to measure my contractions. The boys' heartrates stayed within the appropriate range and jumped up when the moved, just as they were supposed to. Surprisingly, I had a few contractions while hooked up. Nothing to be concerned about at this point, but it certainly does make everything seem more real! On Thursday morning, I go for another NST and for a biophysical profile, which is a detailed untrasound that will monitor each baby's activities for a period of time and scoring them based on certain activities that they complete (practice breathing, muscle movements, fluid measurements, etc). I'm sure they will pass with flying colors! It won't be much longer until we meet our little guys and we can't wait!

While the weekend was rough for me, it was very productive for Jim. He was able to finish the basement ceiling texture and it looks great. It was his first time texturing a ceiling and he did a wonderful job!

Big baby boys :)

I went for another growth ultrasound today and the babies have gained more than a pound over the last three weeks. They were both estimated to weigh 4 lbs, 13 oz each!! That is equivalent to the 56th percentile. It's so great that they are both the same size. The dr. said they need to be within 20% of each other in weight, but they are so competitive that they are staying neck-in-neck the whole way. Maybe that competitiveness will translate to their athletic careers when they grow up :) Everything else looked good, except their amniotic fluid levels were a little low. The techician didn't seem concerned and the dr said he would call to follow up if there was anything to be worried about.

I saw the dr yesterday and everything seems to be going well. My blood pressure was still good and they are both still head down. My belly measured 42 cm! He won't let me go past 38 weeks (37 weeks is full term for twins), so unless they decide to come earlier, D-Day will be around May 12th. Only a few more weeks!

We got a couple of pics at today's ultrasound. Baby A's head is really low, so his picture is hard to make out. It didn't help that he had both arms up in front of his face! But, you can see a little of his nose and lips at the top left side of the screen if you use a little imagination :)

The one of Baby B is better, you can see his face really well and his arm is up in front of his eye. He looks sleepy, but he was actually moving all around before and during the ultrasound! We can't wait to meet these sweet little boys!

Home Updates

This weekend was pretty productive! My parents brought up the new buffet that dad built for our dining room. We love it! It looks great in the big empty space where the gas logs were before we moved them into the living room.

Jim finished the final coat of plaster and sanding on the drywall in the living room and kitchen. It looks great and is ready for painting. We are trying to match the paint in the kitchen but finished the painting in the living room.

Before paint...
Finally finished!
